The Risk Assessment

What is the Risk Assessment?

Change often feels daunting, especially when the demands of daily life leave little room for reflection or flexibility. It’s often the reason why we get stuck because we don’t see how we can make changes.

That’s why we’ve designed The Risk Assessment. Think of this as a stocktake - a chance to assess:

  • the resources you have on hand, like time and money

  • how you’re currently using those resources

  • where you might get derailed

The aim is to help you identify where adjustments - big or small - can create the space you need to move forward.

Why The Risk Assessment ?

This course draws inspiration from Solai’s career journey. As we mentioned earlier, she’s made a series of bold moves, like:

  • Leaving her paying job to take time out and reflect on next steps

  • Taking the funds she had saved for an MBA to invest in startups

  • Undertaking a company director’s course because she was interested in joining boards

From the outside, Solai’s journey looks seamless. But before every bold move, Solai paused to carefully assess her current circumstances and the risks involved. After all, she is an Actuary!

The Risk Assessment distills Solai’s approach into a set of practical exercises designed to help you do the same:

  1. Money Audit: Understand how you spend your money and identify opportunities to realign your finances

  2. Time Audit: Take a closer look at how you spend your time and uncover ways to prioritise what matters

  3. Scenario Planning: Explore creative ways to balance your resources and create the space you need to explore career moves

  4. Saboteurs Assessment: Identify the internal barriers that may be holding you back and learn to work through them
